Berber – what a dream carpet Berber is – and not just for basements anymore. Oh sure its as durable as it ever was and makes a perfect basement or rec room covering. But lets have a closer look at today’s beautiful and versatile Berber carpet.
The name ‘Berber’ is actually the type of weave which means you can get a Berber in several types of fibers – nylon, wool, and Olefin are the most common.
Because of the looping of the fibres it is a durable carpet and has been a favourite floor covering in heavily trafficked areas as well as entry areas. Berber is easy to care for and cleans like a dream. Because of its varied colour patterns, soiling and damage is naturally hidden. Although the loops are subject to being pulled if you have an animal with nails who likes to dig.
The Berber carpet has grown up since its debut into the basements and rec rooms of our recent past and have started to migrate into other areas of the house. It has become very popular because it is durable, comes in several colours and shades – and the price… Let me tell you about the price.
***Unadvertised Special Bonus*** I’m going to let you in on a little secret… We buy our Berber by the truck load so YOU get warehouse pricing.

Each manufacturer makes their Berber just a little different from the next. The loops may be knotted differently and the materials can be different.
So if you are comparison shopping for a carpet – for any room in your house be sure to compare everything accurately. For example you may think that carpet A looks and feels like carpet B, but carpet B might be made of wool and if carpet A is made of Olefin – carpet B will be much, much, more expensive.
