Sometimes when you are searching for the best carpet deals you might consider installing the carpet yourself. This is good, if you have the time and a healthy back and knees. It can be laborious work.
If you have never installed carpet before you might want to look out for a couple of important points, and that is how to measure a room. In the video our installer explains a few important points that you need to consider
Other ways that you can get a good deal on a carpet is by doing your research. Carpet is often ‘private label’ or ‘white label’ meaning you will have a difficult time trying to compare a brand using its name. What you can do though is take careful notes, the style and texture. The weight and material. You can also get a piece of carpet cut off the roll for shopping comparisons.
There are many carpet manufacturers so you may not be comparing ‘exact’ carpet, but you can get close.
Sometimes the carpet suppliers we work with will contact us with corporate carpet deals. We will get notification that we will be reimbursed on carpet sales. We like that! We also pass this savings directly on to our customer, and we don’t make you wait for the rebate. It is all factored in to one low price.
We like it when we run into you at the grocery store, and we think of you as our neighbour, not just another customer. So making you happy is something we really like to do.
Another way to get a good carpet deal is by making a concession on what you will buy. As an example the beige carpet is very popular and is purchased by the truck load. If you are looking for something unusual or needs to be special ordered, it will cost more. So buying ‘off the roll’ will be more economical.
Carpet pad can be expensive these days too. You have to be very careful if you are thinking about saving money on the pad. You should not re-use old pad for several reasons. First it will void your carpet warranty, second its been there how long? Trust me – its really dirty! And third, even if the first two don’t concern you, underlay does begin to break down after time.
The type of underpad you should get – should at least match the warranty of your carpet. So be careful if you look at buying a cheaper underlay – it may not cover the warranty of your carpet.
Another thing we do to help you get the best deal on carpet is we just give you the high density underpad (great for all carpet warranties). Yep – give it to you – provided you buy your carpet from us and have us install it of course.
The last thing to save money if you aren’t installing yourself is possibly hiring a cheap installer. Watch out for this one. Make sure your liability home owners insurance will cover it if you find someone offering their services privately. Ask around so you know they are good. You know what they say: a good installer is expensive – a bad one costs more. If your carpet installer isn’t good you could end up with rippled carpet, bad seams and perhaps they could cut your carpet all wrong too leaving you with having to buy more carpet.
